A Nationally Recognized Organization is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer/Specialist to contribute to a broad spectrum of electrical safety engineering functions. This position is located near the Boston, Massachusetts area. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
-> Serve as staff liaison to technical committees -> Assist in the writing, editing, and processing of standards -> Confer with manufacturers, researchers, enforcement authorities, and others to obtain pertinent information -> Study literature and other sources of information to maintain familiarity with developments -> Assist in fire investigations -> Maintain liaison with federal, state, and local officials regarding regulations that affect electrical and the NEC -> Monitor, control, and assist in the planning and preparation of budgets related to assigned responsibilities -> Maintain or improve budgeted levels of expenses -> Identify cost savings and profit improvements by recommending improved ways of product design, production, sale and distribution, as well as efficiencies in management and administration
Requirements:
-> Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering -> A Professional Engineering license is a plus -> Experience as an Electrical Inspector -> A minimum of 10 years experience in electrical safety engineering functions -> Excellent computer, written, and oral communication skills -> Knowledge of the National Electrical Code -> General working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards -> Ability to travel to various assignments approximately 30% of time
