About the Position:The Secondary Education Department maintains a vacancy pool of middle and high school teachers interested in teaching in the Peer Teaching Laboratory. In anticipation of possible openings throughout the academic year, applications are accepted continuously for Peer Lab teaching positions. Positions may become available at any time and are filled on a quarterly basis. Class meets 4-6 pm, one day/week.
About the Department:It is the mission of the Secondary Education faculty to provide teacher education candidates with an opportunity to prepare and present lessons that are evaluated by practicing teachers. The curriculum is a carefully sequenced professional program that is firmly backed by current research on effective teaching. Position Responsibilities:Teach peer teaching laboratory to Secondary Education candidates; evaluate lessons and provide constructive feedback. Required Qualifications: * BA degree in Secondary Education or related field * Teaching experience at the middle or high school level Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working with diverse students, faculty and staff * Master's degree Academic Emphasis:Secondary Education Job Location:Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA
