Purchasing Manager
Val Tech Holdings is seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Purchasing Manager. This position will oversee all purchasing activities of the company and will insure the that adequate process controls are in place. This function is a hands-on position assisting a small team with daily purchasing activities as well as working on strategic initiatives in support of the corporate direction.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Contract administration to include insuring that vendor contracts are executed in a timely manner according to written procedures of the company and meet quality standards, provide a system for periodic contract review and negotiation, maintain vendor performance records and provide periodic reviews with vendors.
Supply contract data to Sales Engineers to support pricing decisions.
Hands-on support for department staff handling daily purchasing functions including but not limited to expediting shipments, prioritizing deliveries, occasional creation of of purchase orders and insuring supplier acknowledgement of such.
Pro-actively identify and pursue cost reductions.
Initiate and manage the vendor approval process to support new business and changes to existing business.
Insure that vendors meet or exceed quality standards.
Secure the best possible vendor terms and conditions to achieve inventory management goals and objectives.
Establish procurement systems development within the guidelines of established procedure to include increasing the use of electronic forms of communication wherever possible and development of reporting metrics to be reviewed on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
Requirements:
Skills/Experience:
3-5 years of proven experience in purchasing, material management or similar position in a manufacturing environment.
Prior management of supervisory experience preferred.
Experience in supplier development and proven success in negotiations and inventory management.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work with personnel and vendors at all levels.
Understanding of common manufacturing processes and quality requirements required.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills required.
High proficiency in MS Office applications required.
