Cisco seeks an Advanced Services Project Manager. In this role, you will be focusing on ensuring the success of customer deployments, managing the planning and execution of optimization efforts, and coordinating the interaction of internal, partner and customer resources toward the completion of key services projects. This position requires a strong knowledge of Cisco technologies and solutions, as well as an ability to effectively manage projects, timelines, budgets and resources. The ideal candidate has extensive industry experience and is comfortable working in a cross-functional team environment that is global in reach.
Duties / Responsibilities: - Creation of a project schedule and plan with financial, resource and material requirements. - Develops and presents proposals and negotiates final agreements. - Directs project staff including project engineers, vendors, partners or subcontractors. - Manages the project from start to completion including the resolution of escalated project issues. - Accountable for the project budget. - Presents service business value to customers for new or existing business. - Influences the customer in the assessment, planning and management of complex network projects.
Typically requires: - BS/BA degree or equivalent plus 10+ years related experience in networking/telecommunications industry OR minimum of 5 years managing LAN and/or WAN network implementation and support PLUS 7+ years in a clearly defined Senior Project Management role. - Professional PM certification , ESI, PMP or equivalent is preferred. - Project/Program Management experience in the deployment of leading edge technologies in a highly complex commercial environment. - Professional project management training credentials (PMI). - Basic knowledge of routing, routing protocols, switching, internet and general network architecture. - Demonstrated clear leadership skills and experience working with large project teams and strategic account teams. - Knowledge of the sales process including risk assessment and scoping, and a good understanding of the legal issues with contracts. - Demonstrated advanced negotiation and presentation skills
