Job Description: Program Coordinator for Communities in Schools of Seattle Position Status: Exempt, 0.4 FTE (16 hours/week) with occasional weekend and evening hours Location: John Stanford Center for Educational Excellence Reports to: CIS Executive Director Benefits: Paid vacation, sick and holiday time. Pay Range: $17 20/hr. Commensurate with experience. Position Summary: The Program Coordinator supports CISS site-based programs and coordinates and implements special projects under the supervision of the Executive Director. Specific Tasks: Program Coordination Oversee CIS developing sites, as assigned. Ensure site compliance with CIS National Total Quality Standards. Develop and monitor school site plan. Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with schools, parents, and other community organizations to promote the academic success of all students. Provide assistance to Developing Site programs. Coordinate special projects throughout the year such as Family Fitness Nights at schools and large scale school supply drive. Assist with staff support and training and program/policy development. Assist with outreach and developing partnerships with other agency service providers. Assist in being a liaison between school staff and volunteers. Prepare, conduct, and administer periodic and year-end tutor surveys. Evaluation and Documentation Oversee data collection and reporting at assigned school sites for Communities in Schools evaluations. Provide program information and overview of accomplishments to the Executive Director, CIS board, and District personnel as appropriate. Ensure accurate documentation. Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements. General Duties Assist with preparation for Board meetings. Help with production of CIS quarterly and annual reports. Be responsible for developing and supporting values of a culturally diverse work environment. Participate in CIS planning and program evaluation. Represent CIS at events and meetings, as appropriate. Work consistently towards the CISS mission and in accordance with the program's core values. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus two years experience in a relevant field, or four years of relevant working experience. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with schools, students, parents, community representatives and the general public. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent coordination and time management skills. Flexibility, collaborative spirit, and strong organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Valid Washington state drivers license, access to reliable transportation and proof of adequate vehicle insurance coverage. Ability to lift 25lbs on an occasional basis. Commitment to helping young people stay in school and prepare for life. Desired Qualifications: Experience in education, social services, counseling, juvenile justice, or anti-poverty. One or more years experience supervising staff and overseeing a program. Youth engagement and relationship-building skills, particularly with at-risk youth. Knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, economic status, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
