Program Manager Teacher Certification The person in this position will coordinate the teacher certification programs at the Fort Lewis Army Post and McChord Air Force Base Extension Campuses of Saint Martin's University.

Responsibilities and essential functions
Teacher certification Coordinate the teacher certification programs at the Fort Lewis Army Post and McChord Air Force Base Extension Campuses of Saint Martins University. Provide coordination between the University, the Army, the Air Force and students for information and documentation concerning the teacher certification programs. Provide initial academic advising to prospective students; maintain, monitor, and record all necessary data in student files. Assist dean of education and faculty adjunct coordinator with hiring of adjunct faculty. Prepare contracts for adjunct faculty, University supervisors, and classroom mentor teachers. Provide coordination and information concerning programs and courses available at Saint Martins University Main Campus, Pierce College, Chapman University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Central Texas College, and Oregon Institute of Technology at Fort Lewis and McChord that fulfill preprogram and endorsement requirements. Assist students with veterans affairs benefits and financial aid support. Prepare vocational rehabilitation evaluations and program completion letters with coursework and cost analysis. Interact with school district administration, superintendents, principals, district personnel officers and classroom teachers to make field placements for required practicum course work and student teaching. Verify completion of teacher certification programs to the State of Washington for Residency Teacher Certification. Provide administration needs for the education office at the extension campuses, including record keeping, office management, purchasing, preparing and monitoring the budget, filing, telephone and e-mail activity. Schedules and coordinates term and yearly program courses and mandatory student meetings, facilitates textbook orders and classroom assignments. Assist the dean in coordination of the following programs: Secondary Teacher Certification Program at Ft. Lewis; Elementary Teacher Certification Program at McChord; Special Education Endorsement Program at Clover Park School District; Alternative Route to Teaching programs at Ft. Lewis/Tacoma School District/Clover Park School District; Student Teacher Retention Program with Clover Park School District. Maintains and produces placement spreadsheets as needed by the certification office. Maintains field experience placement records; files appropriate information/forms in students files. EEOE
