Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Professional Development Manager for our Critical Care Nurse Residency Program. In this position, you will be coordinating the learning experience for new hires into the critical care setting, additional learning needs for medical-surgical nurses and float pool staff, and specialty training needs for nurses throughout Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital. You will also have the opportunity to provide leadership for our Magnet designation requirements, certification, professional nursing development, research, and evidence-based practice activities.

Key Job Functions: 1. Coordinates education and development of new staff hires in the critical care departments, medical-surgical departments, and specialty units as requested. .
2. Role models behaviors of mentoring, group support/facilitation, consultation, team building, resource identification and networking to promote a climate that recognizes and responds to staff psychosocial, developmental, and professional practice issues.
3. Prepares new hires to assimilate into the critical care, medical-surgical units, and specialty unit settings through education, social support and mentoring.
4. Integrates use of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) and Practice-Based Evidence (PBE).
5. Member of the IRB and research committee.
6. Scope and responsibility and accountability continuously evolves to meet the demands of the practice setting.
7. Assess strategies that promote rapid learning
8. Develops outcomes that reflect professional competence, learning, and change
9. Uses outcomes to demonstrate that programs are meeting their intended purpose and quality.
10. Uses educational strategies that are varied and designed to meet the needs of the learner.
11. Creates opportunity for feedback and evaluation of the effectiveness of the educational content, materials, techniques, strategies, and learning environment.
12. Synthesizes evaluation data, trends, and expectations to guide decision making about changes and improvement of all components of NPD.
13. Collaborates with physicians, managers, and staff to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
14. Collaborates with managers and residents biweekly evaluating residency progress or lack there of.
15. Coordinates efforts to achieve and maintain goals of the Division of Patients Care Services relative to Magnet designation.
16. Maintain Magnet designation by developing Magnet annual reports.
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- Wisconsin RN licensure.
- Master's Degree in Nursing, education or related field preferred. (Alternatively, equivalent education as determined by related years of progressive experience).
- Three to five years of experience in adult or pediatric critical care setting.
- One to two years experience in a formal, nursing academic setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with high productivity.
- Must welcome the opportunity to become Green Belt trained within the first year of employment and candidates with prior Lean Six Sigma training is a benefit.
