The Customer Sales & Support Training Team works to fulfill the Medtronic Mission by developing and delivering world-class learning solutions for the 24-Hour HelpLine, Supply Order Sales Team, Customer Support Center, Pharmacy Team, and Customer Experience Excellence Team. The Principle Training/Education Specialist plays a critical role in making this happen! This position will be responsible for analyzing, designing, delivering, and evaluating new hire and ongoing development learning solutions for our global Product HelpLines. As such, this role requires exceptional instructional design and training facilitation skills; knowledge of current training and development trends; a strong understanding of adult learning principles; robust project management skills; and experience applying these skills globally.
Position Responsibilities
Work with Global Patient Support, US and global HelpLine, and Training leadership teams to build the strategy for global HelpLine training and development Build strong partnerships with global HelpLine leadership and work with them to understand new hire, ongoing development, system, and product launch learning needs Become an expert on Medtronic Diabetes products, troubleshooting, and the system used for documentation of customer calls Become an expert on the global HelpLine teams' business environments, product launch differences, and regulatory requirements Produce clearly written project plans, and track project milestones and deliverables, to ensure successful completion of commitments Communicate frequently and effectively with key stakeholders to ensure that goals and objectives are being fulfilled as agreed Design, build, and deliver global HelpLine learning solutions that fill knowledge gaps, provide a scalable framework for future global HelpLine teams, and account for localization needs Design, build, and deliver train-the-trainer programs as necessary to train global HelpLine super-users and leadership Prepare and update US HelpLine operating procedures to be leveraged globally Coordinate global HelpLine training for new product launches Design and build a robust and scalable method for communicating global HelpLine training and development information to ensure consistency in messaging Design and develop strategy for global HelpLine use of online testing and post-training evaluations Partner with global colleagues to facilitate new hire, ongoing development, system, and product launch HelpLine training Track and trend global HelpLine training results using Kirkpatrick's four levels of training evaluation: reaction, learning, behavior, results Provide constructive feedback and action steps to trainees regarding their performance in training Provide supervisors/managers with regular reports regarding their employees' performance in training Provide training data for Training Team Dashboard and Balanced Scorecard Serve as a curriculum development resource to team members Investigate and test new/state-of-the-art training and development tools to ensure continued growth and efficiency of the global HelpLine and Training Teams Other related duties as necessary
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university At least seven (7) years of training and development experience At least two (2) years of project management experience At least one (1) year of global work experience
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Education, OD, HR, Training or related field Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design techniques Demonstrated knowledge of current training and development industry trends Demonstrated superior verbal and written English skills, including advanced knowledge of grammar and punctuation usage requirements, for the purpose of creating and editing curriculum and training communication Demonstrated ability to build robust project plans Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships globally Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various levels within the organization Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Office applications Demonstrated attention to detail and quality Highly self-motivated and self-managed; ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to organize and work under strict and aggressive timelines, while producing quality deliverables Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and act with the highest degree of ethics Ability to travel up to 50% Prior experience designing and delivering training for medical devices or other highly technical products Prior experience with diabetes and insulin therapy Prior experience working within a customer care or product support environment Proficiency in Adobe programs Proficiency with Articulate rapid-eLearning software Prior experience working with a Learning Management System Prior experience developing innovative solutions to complex problems Prior experience with Lean/Six Sigma Member of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD)
