Job Description:

Job Title:PARAPROFESSIONAL - Tutor (7048) - Fit Fun After School Program

School:Colfax Elementary School


Hourly Rate:$12.15/hour

Schedule:3 hours/day, 5 days/week

Application Due Date:July 27, 2010

Position Start Date:August 10, 2010

Objective:

To help homeless students 5-12 years old succeed in school by assisting with the after-school program.


Performance Responsibilities:

. Work under the supervision of Fit Fun, as well as Homeless Liaison

. Report to the Fit Fun Supervisor and Homeless Liaison as requested, works directly with the on-site Lead Teacher.

. Attend all mandatory Fit Fun trainings/meetings

. Help supervise students in the after school program

. Provide tutorial/academic assistance to students in after school program

. Communicate with parents, teachers, and other relevant staff to monitor student performance

. Perform other related duties as required or requested

Reinforces curricula presented by teachers to students who fail or have difficulty comprehending the material, which includes but is not limited to: reading, writing, science, social studies, mathematics and other designated curriculum. Assists in conducting testing and assessment, multi-media activities, general office and clerical tasks, record keeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities. Communicates with parents about routine issues. Preferred Experiences/Qualifications:

. Demonstrated work with homeless students

. Ability to be fair and consistent with the provided discipline plan

. First Aid, CPR, and Universal Precautions certified (can work with FF to get this certification)






An Associate's Degree or 48 college semester credit hours or a BS/BA degree or a passing score on the WorkKeys assessment test is required. No previous experience is required.
