School:Valverde Elementary School
Work Year/Schedule:7 hours/day, 5 days/week - 4 hours per day as ELA General Assignment Paraprofessional (7399) and 3 hours per day as Extended Day Kindergarten Paraprofessional (7409)
Hourly Rate:$11.03 per hour for hours worked as ELA General Assignment Paraprofessional (7399) and $10.98 per hour for hours worked as Extended Day Kindergarten Paraprofessional (7409)

Responsibilities ELA General Assignment Paraprofessional (7399):
Provides Spanish language translation and interpreting skills to support teachers in the instruction of students, which includes but is not limited to: reading, writing, science, social studies, math, and other designated curriculum. Assists in conducting testing and assessment, general office and clerical tasks, record keeping, computer operation, and discipline. Assists in the development of lesson plans and provides feedback on individual students.
Responsibilities for Extended Day Kindergarten Paraprofessional (7409):
Supports teachers in the instruction of students, which includes but is not limited to: reading, writing, science, social studies, mathematics, and other designated curriculum. Assists in conducting testing and assessment, multi-media activities, general office and clerical tasks, record keeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities. Communicates with parents about routine issues.
Requirements:
Must have demonstrated experience reading, writing and speaking in English and one or more designated languages (Spanish). An Associate's Degree or 48 college semester credit hours or a BS/BA degree or a passing score on the WorkKeys assessment test is required. Must successfully complete the second language test. When a candidate has been recommended for possible employment, information about the second language test will be provided by Human Resources.
