Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited Nursing program with specialization in mental health nursing. Mental health clinical experience. RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Florida. Strong communication skills and computer skills using web-based applications. Must meet the University and College criteria for appointment to the level of Instructor I.
Preferred Qualifications Earned Doctorate in Nursing or related field from a nationally accredited nursing program. National certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. Experience in baccalaureate or higher degree nursing education. Evidence of service in professional organizations (e.g. membership and/or committee involvement, presentations, research, and/or publications).

DutiesTeaches predominantly at the undergraduate BSN level in NUR 3535 Mental Health Nursing and NUR 3535L Mental Health Nursing Clinical which is offered three semesters per year with a cap size of 30 students each semester. Additional teaching responsibilities could be in NUR 3286L Gerontological Nursing Clinic, and NUR 3829C Foundations of Nursing Practice. These courses run 2-3 semesters each academic year. Conducts clinical teaching and simulation labs and advising. Expectations for scholarship will be those identified for rank as described in FPED and College documents. Service to school, college and university is expected in form of committees, accreditation activities, etc.
