NAEYC accredited preschool program. Experience working with children required, CDA preferred. Assist Lead Teachers with curriculum planning, classroom management and evaluations. Free YMCA membership. Under the direction of the Infant-Preschool Child Care Director and or the appropriate teacher, the teacher assistant will be responsible for assisting with the planning, development and implementation of all classroom activities. The teacher assistant will work towards providing a program to foster children’s social, physical, emotional, and cognitive growth using the proper curriculum.
Requirements:
• A background in Early Childhood Development is desired. • The individual must have the ability to work well with children in cooperation with other staff and parents of participants. • Being responsive and flexible to the needs of the program are imperative skills. • Documentation of a physical examination and a negative TINE test, valid within one year of employment is mandatory. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES • Responsible for the safety and well being of the children at all times. • Responsible for daily record keeping and adherence to all requirements. • Attend all staff meetings and in-service training as required by the director. • Assist in the daily maintenance of the classroom environment. • Communicate pertinent information with the site director obtained through contact with parents and children. • Assist in all YMCA activities and special events, as needed, to ensure their success • Communicate with parents and share daily information with them. • Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor.
