General Summary: Responsible for overall management of corporate network architecture and system support. Supports all aspects of network and system architecture and integration, including system configuration, hardware installations, performance management, capacity planning, system recovery, system administration, patching, OS installs and configuration, and system software. Responsibilities include all devices in the corporate network, including (but not limited to): Windows Servers & Desktops, Linux Servers, VMWare Servers, F5 Network equipment, SAN, and any other equipment supporting the corporate test and production environments.

Essential Job Functions: 1.Train employees on complex technical issues. 2.Provide leadership for priority evaluations and any project ranking forums. 3.Develop and implement standards, procedures, and processes for the network operations group. 4.Direct and monitor major initiatives to achieve integration and desired business results. 5.Work with security to implement procedures and standards in line with both industry best practices and all appropriate auditing authorities (including but not limited to PCI, SAS70, SOX). 6.Ensure network operations staff adherence to service level agreements and critical objectives. 7.Manage complex technical problems and projects. 8.Review and approve scope documents, technical project plans, implementation plans, and recovery plans. 9.Manage system performance and reliability of a 24x7 network across multiple geographic locations. 10.Collaborate with lines of business to prepare and present quarterly capacity planning charts. 11.Evaluate hardware and software upgrade needs and working with vendors to prepare upgrade configurations. Document and present recommendation to the management team. 12.Manage vendor relationships necessary to provide servers, networks, services, operating systems, and other systems software. 13.Coordinate of all network activities related to Nelnet CT/NIT. 14.Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness. 15.Develop and maintain all system support related programming. 16.Manage operating system and installation and maintenance of some stand-alone 3rd party products. Responsible for the support of all hardware and peripherals in the NBS production and test environments. 17.Develop, oversee, and follow up on all operational issues related to systems supported; review system changes and ensure adherence to change management standards. 18.Successfully deliver network related projects on time and within funding parameters. 19.Provide technical consulting to other departments within the company as needed. 20.Plan, prepare and conduct system recovery testing. 21.Develop and maintain effective disaster recovery plans, including processes and procedures necessary to recover systems in the event of a declared disaster. 22.Develop and maintain plans, processes, and procedures to ensure high system availability in the event of routine maintenance and expected hardware and service failures. 23.Manage PCI Compliance. 24.Oversee incident response planning and investigation of security breaches.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1.Ability and willingness to work on-call responsibilities, including nights and weekends. 2.Familiarity with current PCI rules & guidelines. 3.Travel required as needed.

Education and Experiences: 1.4-year Information Sciences degree or degree in related field or equivalent experience 2.5+ years experience with systems analysis, including system configuration, performance management, capacity planning, hardware and software installations and upgrades, network topologies and protocols, internet/intranet/extranet, hardware/OS, data communications, imaging, network and application administration, network recovery, and desktop services. 3.5+ years experience in designing, developing, implementing and managing technology solutions.
