Math Tutor Tutors with Computers, LLC, a government fundedServiceprovider, is seeking a Math Tutor to assist students in the completion of our tutoring instruction in order to help them achieve academic success. Tutors work one-on-one with the students to assess strengths and weaknesses in math and develop strategies that will help the student to improve their math skills. The tutoring will occur at our learning location, over the phone, or at the student's home.
Position Responsibilities: · Have a sincere desire to help at-risk students achieve proficiency in academic skills resulting in a high quality education. · Maintain confidentiality of all information in accordance with the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act. · Comply with the ethics standards to which allgovernment fundedServiceproviders are held. · Assist students with the completion of our tutoring curriculum. · Provide motivation and encouragement for students who have a low level of activity.
Required Skills and Experience: · High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate. · Ability to ace Algebra 1 exam or have a Math teaching certification. · Math tutoring or teaching experience preferred. · Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Basic computer skills. · Reliable transportation. · Clean motor vehicle record and clean criminal history. · Possess a valid Driver's License in the state you live. · Current automobile insurance. · Must be available to work at least 20 hours a week, including evenings and/or weekends. · Possess sensitivity to social, economic and cultural diversity.
