Manager, Special Events and Corporate Partnerships

The Manager of Special Events and Corporate Partnerships reports to the Director of Development and works closely with the development staff, board volunteers, patrons, and development committee to plan both fundraising and community engagement events, as well as develop and manage corporate partnerships. This position entails two primary and complementary functions. 1) Event Management (75%) o Planning and implementing multiple, events (approx. 40 per season) ranging from 15 participants to 1,000, including budgeting; negotiating with vendors; event production; working with staff and volunteer committee leadership; coordinating registration and development of materials, etc. o Supporting development strategy by soliciting event sponsorships and contributions where appropriate, overseeing "moves management" systems for event attendees, and managing sponsor stewardship and acknowledgement. o Ensuring that all events support both revenue and broader donor cultivation goals, assessing effectiveness of existing events and making recommendations for new events. o Attend special events and some performances. 2) Corporate Partnerships (25%) o Developing and managing a robust corporate partnership plan including corporate sponsorship and in-kind contributions, supporting how BLO engages with the community. o Overseeing and implementing corporate benefits fulfillment. o Coordinating and managing a cross company tracking system of community and corporate partnerships and affinity groups.
