Job Summary:
The Manager of Compensation and Benefits oversees the design, implementation, administration and strategic review of the Universitys compensation and benefits programs that support KAUSTs mission, goals and strategic objectives.

Major Responsibilities:
• Designs and implements the university’s compensation & benefits philosophies, strategies, policies and procedures including but not limited to salary structures, pay grades, job analysis and evaluation

• Develops, evaluates and maintains a University wide Performance Management System to support a pay-for-performance culture

• Evaluates, designs and manages the administration of benefits programs to meet the needs of a diverse employee population, including but not limited to insurance programs, disability, sick leave, time off and vacation policies

• Maintains knowledge and legal compliance regarding compensation and benefits practices

• Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of compensation and benefit programs, including salary structures, job families, matrixes and systems support a merit based culture and ensure that KAUST maintains its strategic objectives and competitive position in the marketplace

• Works with the Manager of HR Information Systems to ensure the efficient integration of compensation and benefits processes and that all pertinent data is stored and maintained in an HRIS database

• Ensures that compensation and benefits programs, policies and procedures are communicated to all appropriate KAUST constituencies

• Provides advice and counsel to the Vice President of Human Resources in decision making

• Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts, and attending professional meetings and seminars

• Manages the design and development of tools and technologies to increase efficiency of benefit program administration and guide managers through compensation decisions

• Coordinates planning and implementation with other functions to ensure smooth change management

• Provides consultation and advice to the Vice President of Human Resources

• Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Technical Skills:
• Proven skills in statistical data analysis, manipulation and interpretation with the ability to manage complex information and derive strategy

• Advanced analytical, evaluative and objective critical thinking skills.

• Strategic planning skills

• Knowledge of local, regional and international compensation and benefits rates, trends and issues.

Non-Technical Skills or Attributes:
• Sensitive to cultural norms

• Ability to be innovative, flexible and creative in resolving issues

• Detail oriented

• Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of people with diverse viewpoints and backgrounds

Required Education
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, personnel administration or a related field

• Internationally recognized HR Certification in global compensation and/or benefits

• Global Human Resources experience

Required Experience:
At least 10-15 years of progressively responsible management experience within a Compensation and Benefits role which includes benchmarking, plan design, salary management, HR administration and supporting a diverse workforce
