The Rotman Commerce Program is offered jointly by the internationally renowned Rotman School of Management and the Faculty of Arts & Science (FAS), home of Canada's top economics department. Rotman Commerce selects from the best and brightest students - nationally and internationally - and provides them with an excellent education that prepares them for a wide variety of career paths in business and for advanced study in a number of professional degree programs. It is a highly respected, highly competitive program within the business, financial and academic communities.

The Rotman Commerce Academic Services department is charged with supporting the academic program needs of over 2,000 students enrolled annually, as well as the 80 teaching staff who deliver approximately 250 courses each year.

Working as an integral part of the Academic Program Services team, the Manager is responsible for providing high-level service and support to the program's teaching faculty and students. Under the general direction of the Associate Director - Academic Program Services, the incumbent is responsible for all academic program scheduling including: RSM courses and tutorials; mid-term examinations; make-up classes; and final examinations (summer F term only). The Manager is also the primary contact and support person for all academic scheduling matters and classroom support for undergraduate RSM courses. S/he provides comprehensive support to the RSM100Y course instructor(s).

Key duties and responsibilities are: establishing an understanding of the Rotman BCom curriculum requirements (for program progression and course sequencing purposes), course enrolment patterns and faculty teaching delivery structures; developing all academic schedules; ensuring knowledge and facility with respect to BlackBoard, the Rotman Commerce Portal, and course materials.

The incumbent requires exceptional negotiation, mediation and communication skills, coupled with an ability to build strong relationships with students, faculty, staff and external constituencies.
Education: University degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
Minimum 4 years related experience with academic scheduling, ideally with scheduling software and/or room booking systems. Teaching faculty and student service experience preferred. Demonstrated experience developing effective working relationships with a diverse group of constituencies (e.g., faculty).

Other:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong organizational ability, strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with highly diverse and demanding communities of students and businesses.

Strong computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ROSI and other databases; student portals; websites and Blackboard.

Maturity and professionalism essential. Ability to work independently, to set priorities and work schedules to meet deadlines; demonstrated decision-making skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Tact, discretion, sensitivity to confidential matters. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication, research; analytical and organizational skills are necessary. Able to work effectively with a wide variety of people at different levels of the University and with external stakeholders.
