Design, test, and modify computer-based information systems in response to user requests and problems; provide technical guidance on the most complex projects; schedule work to meet project deadlines; perform supervisory duties. Basic Qualifications:
This position requires Bachelor's degree and 60 months of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills, Education and Experience:
5 years clinical pathology, anatomic pathology or microbiology laboratory experience
Medical Technologist degree preferred
Experience with SCC and Cerner
Key Functions and Expected Performances:Plan, design, and modify the most complex computer-based information systems * Design, test, maintain, and modify computer-based information systems and provide guidance on the most complex projects. Errors may cause significant disruption to operations or major costs. * Evaluate and establish data processing policies, methods, and procedures. * Update systems data and prepare conversion duct needs analysis for the development of new systems and the modification of existing systems * Act independently in conferring with user management to select and implement new systems and make modifications to existing systems, setting priorities when appropriate. * Perform computer studies, such as feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, and statistical analysis; write requests for proposal (RFP).Serve as project leader to ensure project objectives in system development, maintenance, and modification. * Plan work for lower level analysts and programmers to meet project guidelines * Instruct in methods and procedures using effective teaching techniques * Handle employee problems * Make recommendations to hire, terminate and discipline according to institutional policiesDevelop appropriate documentation * Compile documentation for design changes or creation criteria and design and prepare forms, reports, and letters in a timely ively identify and participate in training, education and development activities to improve own knowledge and performance to sustain and enhance professional development. * Keep up-to-date on software systems, operation procedures, and technological developments in systems and programming; * Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars in systems and ve as technical resource to users and others in the department * Provide training and act as internal technical consultant to data processing support staff. * Organize and teach courses on computer usage, * Assist with research projects and interprets test data. * May require availability for call after normal working hours. * Advise on scheduling capacity and efficient use of data and troubleshoot and correct production problems. Additional Information:
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).
Salary ranges from $50,502 (min) $70,980 (mid) and $91,457 (max) annually; dependent upon years of education and experience.
