The Seattle Waldorf School is seeking an after school care provider. Position starts September 2010. Responsible to: Kindergarten Teacher Hours: At Kinderhaus Kindergarten, 12:15 pm to 4:30 pm each school day. Position Description: The Afterschool caregiver supervises a kindergarten after school care program, consisting of a rest time, snack, free playtime, and time for activities. The caregiver is responsible for preparing the space, leading the children through the rhythm of the program, and cleaning the site at the end of the day, as well as supplies purchase within a defined budget. In achieving these outcomes, the instructor may not utilize any method inconsistent with Waldorf education methods as accepted by SWS, nor violate any SWS policy. Qualifications: Warm, caring, disciplined way with children and adults Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills Dependability and self-confidence Able to ask for help when need arises High school diploma or equivalent; child development education or work experience.
