Junior Configuration Manager/Software/Configuration Analyst
As a Junior Configuration Manager the successful candidate will work as a member of a software team building next generation SIGINT mission systems to bring consistency, reproducibility and verifiability to the software build and release cycle. Specific duties include:
• Perform Configuration Management (CM) for all software to be integrated. Build and label internally developed software, perform sanitization, verify Gate 2 criteria, gather and report metrics, and verify Artifactory outputs prior to releasing to I&T.
• Configure, manage and maintain the CM tools used; provide customer service to users. CM tools may include, but are not limited to, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Subversion, Maven and Artifactory for a mixed platform environment (LINUX, UNIX, Windows). Provide resolution to users issues related to applicable CM tools.
• Create and/or manage the creation of appropriate Version Description Documents (VDDs) and deliver releases (includes DRs and full deliveries) to stakeholders for all software to be released .
• Work with the IT Infrastructure support team, perform ClearCase hardware/software configurations and modifications, including installing and configuring server hosts, ensuring efficient client/server connectivity and moderate Multisite trouble resolution.
• Work with the IT Infrastructure support team, plan and manage the CM system capacity and tuning of client and servers for best performance.
• Work with the IT Infrastructure support team, implement and execute development and maintenance of CM repository and tools including repository backup and recovery plans, date import/export, storage management, periodic maintenance and monitory repository integrity.
• Recommend effective CM policies and practices including, but not limited to, branching/baseline strategies, development workflows and release strategies.
• Implement, document, and maintain software build and configuration management scripts.
• Perform and/or arrange media/code scans and document and communicate release deliveries.
• Document CM processes to aid development teams to adopt best-practices.
Basic Qualifications: • Five or more years of ClearCase administration experience in a LINUX/UNIX and Windows environment.
• Hands-on experience in the maintenance and upgrade of CM tools, especially ClearCase and ClearQuest in LINUX/UNIX and Windows.
• Hands-on experience implementing, documenting and maintaining software build and configuration management scripts.
• Knowledge of CM best practices for Agile development.
• Ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence in knowledge of CM tools.
Security: Candidates must have TS/SCI clearance with poly.
Preferred Qualifications: • Knowledge of SIGINT mission systems and applications.
• Hands-on experience with Make, Ruby, Eclipse, CruiseControl, GForge, JBoss, WebLogic, and scripting using Bourne shell or variants Perl, Awk, Sed.
• Experience working with Maven artifacts.
• Domain knowledge of SIGINT processing.
