Overview:

Ross University School of Medicine, located on the beautiful Caribbean island of Dominica in the West Indies, invites applications for Integrated Medical Education Instructors tostart May 1st, 2012. Our mission is to prepare highly dedicated students to become effective, successful physicians in the United States. Basic science coursework is taught in Dominica and students then complete their clinical studies in the United States. After passing all prerequisite examinations, Ross graduates are licensed to practice medicine in all 50 states of the U.S. Ross University School of Medicine is a division of DeVry, Inc (NYSE:DV)

Education is the primary focus of the faculty. The academic year is divided into three semesters with a new class of students admitted each semester. Lectures and other educational responsibilities continue throughout the year. Effective teachers are sought, particularly individuals who are interested in improving medical education and who work well on a team. Research opportunities exist, primarily in the area of medical education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking applicants for the May 2012 semester start. Individuals who start in May must sign for 1 year (May 1, 2012-April 30, 2013). Applicants will be instructors in the Department of Integrated Medical Education and may be required to facilitate up to 7 PBL sessions but may be asked to assist with simulation, proctoring, and other duties as assigned by the Department Chair. Instructors report to the Chair of Integrated Medical Education.
Qualifications:

Must have the M.D. degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completion of all rotations and interviews. GPA must be above 3.0 or candidate must submit a letter of reference.

Other Requirements:
-You must be a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine.
-Completely finished with your rotations and interviews and have passed both components of Step 2 (this may be negotiable upon discussions with the Chair).
-Candidates will be selected based on their record of academic achievement.

The position is a temporary one (1) year position from May 1, 2012 through April 30, 2013 and pays US $3750.00 per month. You will also receive one (1) round-trip ticket to and from Dominica and housing for two (2) weeks until you can secure your own accommodations, if you are not currently in Dominica. Health insurance is provided by and paid for by Ross University.

The Department also requires that you be able to be in Dominica for each full semester unless you receive permission from the hiring manager/chair. This means no interviews, late arrival or other activities unless specific permission is given by the hiring manager/chair.
