Instructor of Theatre - Costume Designer
About the Position:Western Washington University Theatre Department invites applications for a replacement appointment in theatre design with an emphasis in design and costume history.
About the Department:Theatre Arts Position Responsibilities:We seek a teacher/practitioner who will teach introductory and specialized courses in costume design and production, stage makeup, costume history, millinery and who will also supervise student theses in design. Secondary areas in puppetry, costume technology or other theatre design areas are also encouraged. The successful candidate will design for a minimum of one faculty-directed production per ear and mentor student designers of student and faculty-directed productions. Required Qualifications: * M.F.A, Ph.D or equivalent terminal degree in Theatre * Minimum of 5 years successful college-level teaching and/or 7 years of professional design experience Preferred Qualifications: * Ability to teach broadly within the discipline * Committed to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment Academic Emphasis:Theatre Arts Job Location:Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA
