Founded in 1900, Coppin is a model urban, residential liberal arts university located in the northwest section of the City of Baltimore that provides academic programs in the arts and sciences, teacher education, nursing, graduate studies, and continuing education. Coppin offers 53 majors, and twelve graduate degree programs, Nearly 4,000 students are enrolled in day, evening, on-line, and weekend undergraduate and graduate courses. The Department of Social Science within the School of Professional Studies is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be required to: * teach in undergraduate programs (visit our website, , for a comprehensive overview of the department and its course offerings. * Possess knowledge of the breadth of course in the field of Social Science * Serve as an academic advisor to students * Provide service on departmental, school and university committees. * Assists with the securing of external funding for department initiatives. Qualifications Education * An earned doctorate in Social Science or a related field is required * Masters degree and A.B.D. will be considered. Experience * A strong record of college teaching, research, and publication experience as well as community service. * Relevant professional experience and passion for student success. * Demonstrated commitment to securing external funding.
