Provide in-classroom support for faculty on the Charles River Campus in their utilization of both established and emerging teaching and learning technologies, including but not limited to Blackboard and/or other learning management systems, e-portfolio systems, a variety of desktop software including advanced PowerPoint, audience response systems, lecture capture, pod casting and video streaming. Open trouble tickets for end users reporting various teaching and learning technology problems. Input and maintain detailed, accurate data in trouble tickets for purposes of tracking, escalating and reporting issues. Work in consultation with Instructional Designers and/or curriculum development experts to identify technology tools called for by current or new pedagogical strategies, and prepare to provide effective support for those tools. Set up and operate specialized audio/video projection equipment and systems for curriculum on the Charles River Campus. Consult with faculty to determine instructional technology and classroom computing needs.
Required Skills
Requires: B.A./B.S. or equivalent in media or communications. Must have a technical skillset to troubleshoot and resolve computing and audio-visual technical service calls, as well as in person issues. Good working knowledge of PC and Mac operating systems and software. Experience with audio-visual technology, wired and wireless networks, multimedia hardware and software, and audio equipment. Hands on experience with traditional and new instructional technologies and presentation delivery systems. Ability to learn and support new applications quickly. Experience in instruction and computer technology (Instructional technology systems, Image and audio distribution systems, Video acquisition and streaming technologies), and excellent customer service skills and a minimum of two to three years of experience in an academic setting or equivalent training background.
