Overview:
The, Human Resources generalist is directly responsible for supporting the overall administration and coordination of the Human Resources department. The Generalist assists in the development of the organization wide performance and talent management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Supports employee retention through the reward and recognition programs. * Supports administrative processes in Human Resources assuring accurate record keeping * Responsible for the data integrity of all employee information in the payroll system. This function is supported by performing audits of all payroll activity. * Responsible for administering and/or supporting the administration of the benefits programs * Responsible for monthly updates and report writing on campus to inform management of campus HR activity. * Assists in the administration of the recruiting processes using the recruiting system to track all stages of the process to the point of hired status and transfer of information to the payroll system. * Works with the HR Director to ensure correct delivery of each phase of the Onboarding and Offboarding processes. * Assists in creating and facilitating internal training and development programs. * Responds to employee questions regarding benefits and researches issues. * Administers all company benefit plans and ensures corporate policies are followed. * Works with the HR Director to oversee the recruiting process for various staff positions within the campus. * Provides structure for mandated HR processes such as file maintenance and record retention. * Observes, recommends, and implements efficient and effective department processes for continuous HR improvement. * Completes other projects and duties as assigned. Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business or Psychology preferred. * Previous experience as a Human Resources Generalist or Administrator preferred. * Knowledge of the Labour Legislation in the Commonwealth of Dominica is preferred. * Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills is required. * Demonstrated ability to relate and communicate with all levels of management Is required. * Consistent attention to detail and follow-up. * Must be a team-player, be flexible, and be a good listener with a high level of patience. * High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Publisher, Word with particular focus on Microsoft Excel) is required. * Ability to manage sensitive, confidential issues. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment. * Two years previous experience in customer service is desirable.
