The Faculty of Medicine is seeking a highly organized, proactive and customer focused HR Administrator to perform various functions in the areas of benefits, recruitment, and office administration. Key responsibilities include: meeting with new employees for the purpose of explaining benefit plans and applicable employment policies; enrolling employees in benefit plans and making changes to their benefit selections; addressing inquiries from employees on benefit-related matters; and entering information on HRIS. He/she participates in recruitment activities; acts as a first line of contact on various HR issues; interprets and provides information on collective agreement provisions and employment policies; maintains the Faculty of Medicine's HR web-based portal; shares responsibility for managing the front desk; maintains the director's calendar; and ensures the smooth operation of the HR office. The incumbent works as part of a team of HR professionals who provide support and services to over 7,000 staff and faculty in some 60 different departments and units across the Faculty of Medicine. Education: University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of related professional development courses in pursuit of a CEBS or CHRP designation a strong asset.
Experience: Two years' progressive human resources experience, including experience in benefit administration. Knowledge of and experience using an on-line recruitment system. Expertise in web page software and design.
Skills: Keyboarding skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Word and Excel. Experience with SAP HRIS an asset.
Other: Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities, and attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Strong client focus with an awareness of and sensitivity to diversity. Strong listening & interpersonal skills. Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization. Creative problem-solver. Excellent follow-through skills and proven ability to take initiative. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
