Social Studies Teacher Needed Job Requirements As a social studies teacher, you will be required to effectively communicate with students, as well as building their trust, motivating them, and understanding their needs. Computer skills are a must. You will be required to work cooperatively with parents and other teachers. You will be required to teach lessons in such subjects as government, geography, world history, economics, and civic ideals that include current events. Must be able to assign and grade homework. You will be required to create, plan, and lead a lesson plan. As a teacher you will be required to maintain a yearly teacher planner.
