History - African History Part-Time Instructor
About the Position:Part-Time Instructor position in African history.
About the Department:The History Departmenthas 19 full-time faculty, BA programs in History, Education (secondary and elementary), and MA programs in History and History with a concentration in Archives and Records Management.
Position Responsibilities:The successful candidates will be expected to teach African history survey courses and lower and upper division courses according to departmental needs.
Required Qualifications:
* MA in the history of Africa by the time of employment
* Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working with a diverse student body and staff
Academic Emphasis:African History

Other Information:Western Washington University is a regional institution, located in Bellingham, Washington on Puget Sound. It enrolls approximately 12,500 students. The student body, which is largely undergraduate, is drawn chiefly from Western Washington and is very strong for a public university. The University has a number of focused, high-quality graduate programs. Faculty are both good teachers and strong scholars. Bellingham is located between two major metropolitan areas, Vancouver, British Columbia, approximately sixty miles to the north and Seattle, which is some ninety miles south; both have major research universities with strong library collections.
