Graphic Design Specialist
Job Descriptions: BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create high-quality artwork for tests and test-related products. Assess requests for graphics and respond to inquiries from Assessment Development staff.
Ensure that newly created art is proofed against art requests to check for quality and accuracy.
Strictly follow documented procedures for creation and revision of art.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of departmental and individual program style guides, implement agreed upon styles, and suggest revisions to style guides as needed.
Plan and set priorities. Meet established deadlines. Communicate to graphics team and graphics supervisor any obstacles to completing assigned work. Assist in managing workflow for the department.
Work cooperatively with other graphic design specialists.
Troubleshoot problem art files. Communicate any issues to supervisor or relevant assessment specialists. Resolve problems.
Assist in training new illustrators in art standards, procedures, and software features. Required Experience: EDUCATION An Associate’s degree in Computer Graphics, Graphic Design, Commercial Art, or Graphic Arts is required.
EXPERIENCE Three years of experience in graphic design, computer graphics, or commercial art are required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS - A solid working knowledge of the latest versions of graphics software, including Photoshop and Illustrator. - Understanding of the tools and techniques used to create and manipulate various types of artwork. - Knowledge of typography, graphic design, color theory, printing, and information design. - Ability to accomplish tasks within scheduled deadlines and budgets, often under pressure. - Ability to work as part of a team. - Excellent communication skills.
