Departmental Overview The International House is a self-supporting residential and program center for up to 600 international and United States students and scholars from the Berkeley campus. Its mission is to foster intercultural understanding and respect among people throughout the world across cultural, economic, and racial lines. A professional staff, that are University of California employees, supports the mission of the House. In non-employment respects, the Institution functions as a not-for-profit 501C3 educational corporation. Responsibilities Under supervision of the Assistant Food Service Manager, set up serving area with continental breakfast items. Properly store breakfast items at end of breakfast service. Prepare area for lunch setting up steam tables and service line items. Assist in storing lunch food items at end of lunch service. Keep dining area cleared of debris and tidy in appearance. Wash and put away dishes, pots and pans as needed. Required Qualifications Ability to read, write, and follow oral/written instructions and to successfully perform the duties as assigned. Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Considerable standing, walking, and repetitive hand movement required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a large volume food service institution.
