Departmental Overview The International House is a self-supporting residential and program center for up to 600 international and United States students and scholars from the Berkeley campus. Its mission is to foster intercultural understanding and respect among people throughout the world across cultural, economic, and racial lines. A professional staff, that are University of California employees, supports the mission of the House. In non-employment respects, the Institution functions as a not-for-profit 501C3 educational corporation. Responsibilities Under supervision of the Assistant Food Service Manager, distribute, replenish and put away food and supplies in the serving area. Maintain inviting appearance and ensure appropriate sanitation of dining area. Wash and put away dishes, pots and pans. Remove dining room trash and compost bins as needed. Oversee work of two or more student assistants. Required Qualifications Ability to read, write, and follow oral/written instructions and to successfully perform the duties as assigned. Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Considerable standing, walking, and repetitive hand movement required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a large volume food service institution. Salary & Benefits $13.76 hourly Other Information These are limited 37% variable appointments.
