Responsibilities:

* Oversee the development and administration of undergraduate, graduate, continuing education and applied research programs in SLECJ.
* Direct the certification of SLECJ law enforcement programs.
* Manage the hiring and evaluating of staff, and the development and implementation of policies and procedures which are consistent with university and state policies.
* Participate in the overall administrative leadership of the university.
* Recruit, mentor and evaluate full and part-time faculty in the SLECJ.
* Represent the SLECJ within the university and serve as the School’s liaison with external constituencies, at the local, state, regional and national levels.
* Develop and manage SLECJ budgets.
* Oversee external fundraising, marketing, recruitment efforts, and alumni connections.
Minimum Qualifications:

* Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or other social science discipline.
* 3 years of administrative experience in higher education (at the level of department chair or higher).
* 3 years of higher education teaching experience.

* Demonstrated commitment to serving a diverse student population.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build coalitions.
* Experience in continuing education programming.
* Demonstrated experience in marketing/public relations.
* Demonstrated success in grant writing and/or fundraising.
Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience managing in a unionized environment.
* Demonstrated success in hiring, mentoring, and evaluation of academic faculty at a university.
* Professional work experience in the criminal justice field.
