Elementary Curriculum Developer The Elementary Curriculum Developer (ECD) ensures that all Mastery Charter students, across all schools, produce breakthrough results in all K-6 subjects as measured by State, SAT, AP and Mastery Benchmark interim assessments. The ECD reports directly to the Director of Elementary Program and provide support to the Director of Professional Development and Director of Teacher Coaching.
Key Responsibilities: TheElementary Curriculum Developeris responsible for: * Producing and assisting in the design of k-6 elementary instructional materials and tools, including scope & sequences, benchmark assessments, portfolio assessments and aligned teacher resources * Producing, implementing and assisting in the design of elementary instructional professional development. * Assisting in the collection and communication of organization-wide student assessment data. * Identifying and sharing materials and best practices within and across campuses that align with the Mastery model
Qualifications: * Results-oriented individual – a flexible, critical, creative thinker willing to do “whatever it takes.” * Belief in the Mastery Charter School mission and instructional model, including a ferocious desire to provide our students with a world class education. * Strong knowledge of Elementary instruction, including teaching methods and intervention strategies rooted in a skills-based approach * Two years experience in teaching and/or curriculum/assessment writing. * Familiarity with common national elementary programs and products. * Familiarity with PA State and national standards.
The ideal candidate: * Strong instructional background with measurable and significant classroom results * Data driven and backwards planning approach to instruction. * Ability to write valid assessments. * Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong analytical writing skills. * Has experienced a high level of measurable success working with urban youth. * Is familiar with reading intervention and special education programming. * Has zest and a sense of humor.
