Vista Verde Middle SchoolGreenfield Union School District - Monterey County Middle School Language Arts Teacher Under the supervision of the Site Principal, the successful candidate shall be responsible for student instruction and daily implementation of the Vista Verde School Plan. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: creates a flexible elementary grade program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishes effective rapport with pupils; motivates pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; establishes good relationships with parents and with other staff members. Responsibilities include teaching district approved curriculum; instructing pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the district; developing lesson plans and instructional material and providing individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil; translating lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences; communicating regularly with parents by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.; establishing amd maintaining standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning environment; evaluating pupils academic and social growth, keeping appropriate records and preparing progress reports; identifing pupil needs and making appropriate referrals and developing strategies for individual education plans. Additional duties may include but are not limited to being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day. Planning and coordinating work of employees, parents, and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips; creating an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays interes centers and exhibits of student's work; and supervising classroom employees, students and volunteers.
