We are seeking a full-time faculty member in Education for its Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program in Delano, CA, located in the heart of California’s historic San Joaquin Valley. The MAT Program is committed to rigorous graduate training in mathematics, biology, history, and English; intense involvement in the middle and high school classroom; partnerships for educational change with participant schools; and a re-conceptualized education curriculum.
The program is fully integrated with the Paramount Bard Academy, a charter school that opened in August 2009 serving 700 students in grades 6-12. Graduate and public school faculty share a common campus and work together to establish a model educational community for public school students while educating teachers as leaders for educational change.
Teaching in the MAT Program begins in June 2012; applications for the faculty position will be reviewed as they are received. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or Ed.D with expertise in the areas of Cognition and Learning, Curriculum and Instruction, and/or Historical and Social Foundations of Education; previous experience as a secondary teacher is preferred. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
