Minimum Qualifications M.F.A. from regionally accredited institution with 2-D focus. University-level teaching experience. Evidence of ongoing studio productivity.
Preferred Qualifications M.F.A. in drawing or painting. University-level teaching experience past Graduate Assistantship. Figurative emphasis and commitment to drawing exhibited in personal studio work. Demonstrated sophistication with color-based image making.

Special Instructions to Applicants Include 20 images of personal work, 20 images of student work created under applicant's direction that focus on observational drawing and. All images should be submitted in Powerpoint/Keynote or JPEG format on CD/DVD with numbered description corresponding to images in hard copy.
Additional materials submitted such as video, tapes, slides, books, CD's etc., are subject to public review under Florida's Public Records law, shall become the property of FGCU, and cannot be returned.

DutiesDemonstrated pedagogical interest in working with groups of 20 to 22 entry-level students in growing 2-D drawing/foundations program. Continuing availability to teach either one or two, 3-hour long classes per semester. Adjunct teaching schedules are typically confined to one day per week; on-line "office hours" may be possible.

Other Shift Hours: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Capacity to teach introductory drawing course for art majors and non-art majors, including observational drawing, awareness of history, practice, techniques, materials and tools of drawing. Ability to teach syllabi for existing color theory and design (ART 1201: Methods and Concepts 1) course. Ability to work with a diverse community of faculty, staff and students housed in a university setting.
Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued scholarship and service to the school and university.
