The Director of Human Resources manages the Human Resource Partner team that provides human resources consulting services to management in support of business objectives. The Director of Human Resources is accountable for the design and implementation of best-practice Human Resource programs and services in areas including, but not limited to, employee relations, performance management, campus management recruitment, succession planning, change initiatives, employee surveys and policy interpretation.
? Key Responsibilities * Provides leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of Human Resource Partner team. Communicates goals and objectives, monitors performance, provides performance feedback, conducts appraisals, takes appropriate corrective actions and oversees training and development. Screens, interviews and hires employees. * Leads the timely review, development, revision, documentation and communication of HR guidelines, policies, and procedures. Ensures policies and procedures are within the framework of industry best practices, laws and regulations. Serves as a subject matter expert on the interpretation of HR policies and ensures they are consistently applied. * Oversees and guides HR Partners to conduct timely, objective and thorough employment-related investigations and deliver quality work products. * Manages the implementation of strategic HR initiatives. * Develops and tracks performance metrics; prepares and generates reports and presentations. * Acts as a resource to campus and corporate management to assist them in meeting staffing goals. Collaborates with talent acquisition team in the development and implementation of talent acquisition strategies, policies and procedures that are aligned with the company’s mission and goals and support the recruitment, selection and hiring of qualified diverse talent. * Collaborates with learning and development team, campus and corporate management in the development and implementation of talent management programs to ensure the internal talent pipeline meets the company’s future management talent needs. * Develops and maintains strong working knowledge of the business and consults with management in the areas of coaching, staffing, compensation, training, performance management, employee relations, and issue resolution to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and acceptable management practices. * Communicates complex issues to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources and/or legal counsel. * Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures, ethical practices, and the guidelines of government and accrediting organizations. * Apprises supervisor of major issues and status of initiatives, trends and opportunities on a timely basis.
Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education. MBA or advanced degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Leadership, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology preferred. * Minimum of ten years progressively responsible HR generalist experience with a strong record of success with at least five years in a supervisory capacity. Experience with multi-state locations is required. * Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws, change management, talent management, workforce planning, conflict resolution, and employee relations. Strong business acumen. * Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate well with various levels of employees. Demonstrate superior interpersonal, influencing and collaboration skills. Experience in organizing and writing reports and presentations. * Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. * Proven experience in solving complex problems. Excellent ability to analyze risks and identify ways to mitigate those risks. * Able to provide examples of using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. * Experience prioritizing, planning and organizing tasks/activities to ensure timely completion of job responsibilities. * Proven track record of project completions on time and within budget or other constraints. * Demonstrated leadership skills including experience in supervising employees including assigning work, training employees, and conducting job performance reviews. Able to recruit, interview and hire new employees for the assigned area. * Proven record of multi-tasking and ability to handle a high pressure environment with significant timeline pressures. * Past history of developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time. ITT Technical Institute issues, on an annual basis, a Safety and Security Policies and Crime Statistics Report. The Report discloses information about our College’s safety and security policies and procedures, and statistics concerning the number of particular crimes reported to each College and local law enforcement agencies as occurring on each College’s premises or public property adjacent to the School. The Report serves to inform each College’s students, prospective students, employees and prospective employees of the existence and enforcement of the College's safety and security policies.
