Description: Position Summary:
Will provide secretarial and administrative support to the Laboratory's Chief Security Officer (CSO). Will coordinate major department seminars, workshops, and other special events. Duties include word processing, preparing briefing charts, creating spreadsheet reports, electronic archiving of briefings, handling and composing correspondence, coordinating travel, answering telephones and e-mail, receiving visitors, initiating and releasing purchasing requisitions and performing other miscellaneous tasks in support of administering smooth office operations. Will require discretion in dealing with a wide range of privacy matters. Past experience working effectively at executive office level coordinating actions, meetings, and appointments. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Maintain files and records for legal agreements, contracts, and important Laboratory records. Extensive interaction with Laboratory personnel. Ability to work successfully in a team environment is essential as is ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-faceted office. Will coordinate meetings and schedules as the senior representatives of Sponsors, Campus, and various Federal Agencies.
Requirements:
* High School graduate or equivalent with minimum 4.5 years professional secretarial administrative experience; post-high school education will count toward experience.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
* Must be able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
* Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
* Practical experience with SAP to initiate and track purchases, computer-based schedules and data base applications (MS Access) is desired.
* The ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance is required.
