Position: Dean of Instruction Beginning Date: Immediately Reports To: Vice President of Instruction and Student Services About the Position: The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and management for all credit instructional programs at the College in accordance with established internal, state and federal rules and regulations. Serves on the President's cabinet as a member of the Executive Council. Minimum Qualifications: "Doctorate degree in related field. "Experience in related field. "Valid driver's license. Job Responsibilities: "Direct the development, delivery and evaluation of quality instructional programs that meet the emerging trends of the Siouxland region. "Develop, implement and maintain the instructional strategic plan, curriculum master plan, standards, policies and procedures. "Provide the leadership to create symbolic alliances between the instructional programs of the College and external constituents. "Lead the curriculum development process and manage it through the College's curriculum architecture model. "Develop curriculum pathways which promote quality and blend credit and non-credit as required by the College's customers. "Lead and manage the College-wide assessment and program review requirements. "Synergize the effective use of human and capital resources to strengthen the alliances between credit, non-credit, life-long learning, ESL and adult basic education. "Coordinate work between departments and specialized programs; review work and maintain compliance with state and federal program regulations. "Direct recruitment, selection, orientation, professional development and evaluation of faculty and departmental staff. "Use excellent communication and human relations skills. "Use database and software applications to create and manage files and communicate requested information, maintaining confidentiality.
Employment Conditions: This is a full-time, grade 15, administrative position. Starting salary commensurate with education and experience.
