Job Description:

The Critical Environment (CE) Specialist is accountable for the implementation and ongoing management of the corporate Critical Environments Program within one or a few select accounts. Responsible for leading the CE program at mission critical facilities providing a high level of service level in sensitive and critical environments. Works in cooperation with the site management, customer's team and/or critical subcontractors to implement robust operations and maintenance strategy. Works closely with Johnson Controls CE team and researches, develops and deploys industry best practices.

FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides leadership at the account level to meet the uptime objectives of the client facilities through management of all operations and maintenance - leveraging information technology, resources, and processes while delivering cost effective services
2. Ensures that all personnel associated with the critical sites are trained and competent and will perform daily in a well planned executed fashion sharing in the sense of urgency surrounding mission critical operations and facilities.
3. Leads implementation of the Johnson Controls Global Critical Environments program for the assigned account(s)
4. Provide leadership, advice and expertise to meet all service level agreements and key performance indicators
5. Executes the critical environment strategy in cooperation with the customer's team and/or critical subcontractors
6. Implement the critical environment awareness and programs pertaining to operations procedures, document management protocols, capacity planning, change management, risk mitigation support, disaster recovery support, incident reporting, point of delivery analysis, etc.
7. Executes account level quality assurance program and ensure delivery of services meet or exceed the requirements set out in the Statement of Work of the contract and comply with internal BLJC policies and standard operating procedures
8. Develop and maintain positive relationships with the client
9. Conducts operational and infrastructure risk assessments for critical environments as part of an ongoing risk reductions process
10. Investigate and determine root cause of equipment failures
11. Provide recommendations to clients for upgrading equipment and maintenance routines to reduce the risk of unplanned outages
12. Research through various networks for technological changes and industry best practices

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 5 or more years experience in mission critical facilities and operations with a focus on Data Centres and\or the Telecommunications industry
2. P-Eng. is preferred but not mandatory. Certified Data Centre Professional, CET (Mech or Elec), and/or HVAC or Electrical Interprovincial Trade license along with equivalent experience will be considered.
3. Excellent at planning and organizing
4. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
5. Knowledge of BLJC building standards and requirements
6. Knowledge of mission critical procedures, reliability, programs and policies
7. Knowledge of industry best practices relating to mission critical infrastructure
8. Ability to implement & deploy critical facilities risk management programs
9. Strong technical skills in mechanical, electrical, life safety and security systems found in CE environments

While this opportunity will ideally be located in Ontario, BLJC is open to reviewing qualified candidates that reside anywhere in Canada.
