Job Overview:
The counselor interacts with members on a daily basis providing encouragement and advice for weight loss success , and is responsible for excellent care and guidance to members to achieve their weight loss goals.
This position reports to the Senior Counselor.
Job Duties:
Provide individualized nutritional counseling to members using selected analytic tools and indicators.
Meet the needs of existing members by utilizing/providing all program services and tools via weekly consultations.
Support, motivate and educate members on Medifast personalized programs, healthy eating habits, and the science of weight loss. This includes:
Educate members on how to face the challenges of weight loss and counsel towards behavioral changes in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Monitoring member weight loss progress, suggesting changes in program and food options for increased success.
Perform activities designed to track improvements in health (weight, blood pressure, pulse rate, measurements, ketosis testing, and In-Body).
Perform Health Risk Assessment and offer advice/solutions to reduce risk related to diet.
Provide support and assistance in meal replacement selections.
Deliver exceptional customer service to members.
Provide administrative assistance in center as needed.
Experience and Education:
• Minimum 2 years experience in counseling, nutrition or wellness fields.
Skills Requirements:
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to nurture and be empathic to member's needs.
• Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work in a face-paced team oriented retail environment.
• Basic understanding of the science of weight loss, weight management, and related behavioral and nutritional sciences.
• Proficient in: Microsoft Office, Operating Systems and CRM Database.
Job Requirements:
Available to work flexible hou r s including day, evening and weekend hours.
