DCPS Office of Special Education aspires to be recognized and respected as a leader in urban special education. The Coordinator, Co-location Classrooms is primarily responsible for overseeing the Spectrum contract with DCPS. This includes but is not limited to: logistics and scheduling, data analysis, program expansion and professional development, and the coordination of multiple cational Requirements
Bachelor's degreeQualifications
* Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years management experiencerequired. * Master's degree and specific experience in project managementstrongly preferred. * Previous exposure to or experience in special education sector a ponsibilities
* Coordinates all relevant details of the Spectrum contract with DCPS and various neighborhood schools. * Determines nature of obstacles and best DCPS staff to resolve, tracks and follows up until issue is resolved * Schedules and coordinates program-related meetings, conferences, appointments and logistics * Coordinates and follows up on logistics of staffing and funding projects, working with HR, budget, and procurement * Builds relationships and liaises with various internal departments in DCPS, as well as Spectrum and neighborhood schools to drive collaboration and project success * Tracks and reports progress of projects * Interacts with and responds effectively to urgent requests from Spectrum partners, as well as internal and external DCPS stakeholders * Refines and improves project management process; identifies patterns/trends in issues across multiple projects and develops longer-term, systematic solutions to address them. * Stays closely aware of progress of projects, high-level initiatives, and emerging issues across DCPS organization and informs the Director of developments that impact or change the direction of programmatic priorities. * Supports and carries out the Chancellor's mission to transform DC Public Schools and close the achievement gap * Performs other related duties as assigned Notice of Criminal Background accordance with the Criminal Background Checks for the Protection of Children Act of 2004, this position has been designated and identified as one which requires a criminal background check and/or traffic record check.
