Clinical Nurse Specialist- Oncology - Salem, Virginia US
ONCOLOGY CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST
SUMMARY:
Promotes collaborative practices among various hospital staff and physicians to improve the overall care of oncology patients.Serves as a clinical liaison between the hospital and the physicians.
Utilizes and facilitates research that supports and advances nursing practice.
Evaluates educational needs of staff and develops and implements plans to meet those identified needs.
Utilizes expertise in area of specialization to provide consultation services to health care providers and customers.
Assists in assuring that appropriate standard of care/pathways best practice, and policy and procedures are in place.
Demonstrates professional growth and leadership through continuing education and involvement in professional organizations.
Facilitates patient/family education.
Credential Requirements:
Current license as a RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Oncology certification (or experience toward certification)
Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science required. Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum one year experience as an Oncology Nurse with demonstrated proficiency in leadership, education and clinical skills.
