The District of Columbia Public Schools is searching for Compliance Case Managers who will work diligently to address the implementation of current special education legal settlements and the backlog of unimplemented settlements. Compliance Case Managers will work to ensure that the District is in compliance with the Blackman-Jones Consent Decree. (Hint: Look it up before applying.) The decree requires that special education legal settlements are implemented in a timely fashion and no case goes unimplemented for longer than 120-days. The Deputy Chancellor for Special Education is building a top-notch team of full-time Compliance Case Mangers to exceed the Consent Decree goals. This team will ensure that students with disabilities receive the services to which they are entitled while simultaneously reforming the system so that families no longer find it necessary to file due process complaints for cational Requirements
Bachelor's degreeQualifications
. Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years work experience required . Master's degree and specific experience in project management preferred . Prior case management in the public or private sector . Knowledge of special education due process procedures not required but will be very helpful Personal Qualities of Top Candidates: .
