STARTING SALARY: Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
MinimumTRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Associate?s
degree in related field or any comparable equivalent of education and
experience. Previous teaching experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective cooperative working relationships.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed. Ability to work evenings as needed. Special skills include: Roof framing and sheathing, foundation, stairwell wall construction, and
wall finish and trim.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Teaching Performance:
Provides students with appropriate course materials (syllabus, calendar, policy
statements, or guidelines). Adheres
to course competencies in the preparation and delivery of quality instruction. Be organized and prepared for classes. Teaches and tests relevant content. Paces instruction and vary delivery to meet different learning styles. Provides appropriate and timely feedback. Maintain a positive environment for optimum student performance. Provides for and values appropriate student input. Maintains accepted
standards of achievement. 2. Student Advisement:
Provides appropriate academic guidance. Maintains office hours and be available during assigned and optimum times
for advising. Cooperates as part of
the advising team for the program. Assists students as possible in setting and meeting short and long-range
educational goals. Takes advantage
of advising training. Learns and uses computer resources to access data and
properly advise students. Ensures
knowledge institutional policies, procedures and programs. Makes referrals and conducts follow-up as appropriate. Uses discretion in dealing with confidential information. 3. Instructional Development:In coordination with the department manager and other faculty, prepares and
maintains competency-based course syllabi and support materials for all courses. Assists with selection of textbooks and other instructional resources. 4. College and/or other Community Service:
Promotes the College in a positive manner. Assists in recruitment and placement. Cooperates with and participate in projects and activities of the College
and as appropriate in the community. Serves on advisory committees as requested. Promotes and supports the continuing education program of the College. Maintains a cooperative working relationship with College personnel. 5. Professional Development:Seeks ways to keep current in the teaching field. Develops an annual professional development plan (with short and
long-range goals) in keeping with the College?s mission and institutional goals. Participates in appropriate courses, seminars and workshops especially
those that introduce new ideas or practices. 6. Instructional Management:
Maintains required and appropriate records and files. Submits all reports in an accurate and timely manner. Practices effective classroom management. Prioritizes duties and uses time wisely. Maintains current files for courses. Handles student work and records in a professional manner. Performs other duties
