Overview:
Ross University School of Medicine, located on the beautiful Caribbean island of Dominica in the West Indies, invites applications for Behavioral Instructors in the Department of Behavioral Sciences. Our mission is to prepare highly dedicated students to become effective, successful physicians in the United States. Basic science coursework is taught in Dominica and students then complete their clinical studies in the United States. After passing all prerequisite examinations, Ross graduates are licensed to practice medicine in all 50 states of the U.S. Ross University School of Medicine is a division of DeVry, Inc (NYSE:DV)
Education is the primary focus of the faculty. The academic year is divided into three semesters with a new class of students admitted each semester. Lectures and other educational responsibilities continue throughout the year. Effective teachers are sought, particularly individuals who are interested in improving medical education and who work well on a team. Research opportunities exist, primarily in the area of medical education.

Responsibilities:
The individual will participate in academic programs and carry out responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair and the Dean of Ross University.
As a Behavioral Science Instructor you will be responsible for observing the students conducting interviews at the community clinic, reviewing clinical histories and providing feedback to students concerning those histories, grading SOAP notes and physical exam done and submit the grade (Pass or Fail) to community clinic coordinator, assist in the special interview session, observe students conducting interviews on campus, facilitate the DOC.com session with students two days per week, facilitate PBL sessions three days per week, simulation responsibilities as required and grading of reports. In addition, you may be called upon to perform other duties, which may be of benefit to the students of RUSM, including proctoring and tutoring as requested by the Chair of Behavioral Sciences and/or the Dean.

Qualifications:
Must have the M.D. degree and completion of all rotations and interviews. GPA must be above 3.0 or candidate must submit a letter of reference. Interest in the Behavioral Sciences. Positive record/transcripts in Behavioral Sciences and clinical psychiatry rotations.
We currently have two types of Instructor positions in Dominica:
1-Full-time regular employees: With this option, you sign a contract for AT LEAST a year. If you choose this option you will get all the benefits that Ross University has to offer including health coverage, success sharing, a retirement plan, stock purchase option, the geographical living allowance, the annual travel benefit and others. You will also receive a US $1500.00 signing bonus and the annual salary is US $45,000.
2-Full-time temporary employees: These employees sign an offer for one semester. They may renew semester by semester. This is for individuals who plan to obtain a residency in the near future or may have other opportunities and are not sure about time commitment. These demonstrators receive US $37500.00/month, but no benefits.
