Responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions, and defining solutions to problems through reasoned application of information technology. Designs, develops, documents and analyzes overall architecture of systems, including hardware and software primarily for packaged enterprise applications. Determines integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs. Coordinates design and integration of total system including subsystems. Researches and recommends technology to improve the current systems.

Resources will need to have an understanding of several key components of the solutions for the Hosting and Application that will focus on the capacity of hosting operations. There is a strong focus on planning during pre-sales activities, right-sizing the environment, providing for adequate growth and enough elastic capacity to meet customer peak periods. Able to provide technical leadership on identifying solution strategies, implementing the strategy and maintaining it.

The position will provide technical skills supporting the proactive capacity planning partnering with performance teams and vendors to reliably project application capacity. The position may also be responsible for defining standards, defining best practices, on-going capacity reviews for clients, and tool acquisition/development in support of planning activities. Additionally, the position will require reactive support for client problem analysis and tier 3/4 support.

The candidate will have experience with Unix, Linux, and Windows Server platforms combined with applications management and monitoring skills. The candidate will be required to model and do statistical analysis on customer scenarios in regard to capacity issues. Experience with network capacity modeling is a definite plus.

This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T' s compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.

The preferred location for this position is Saint Louis, MO. Other locations that will be considered are Alpharetta, GA; Columbus, OH, Atlanta, GA and Dallas, TX. May consider other qualified applicants in other locations who will remain in those locations.


Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience:

• Expertise with two or more packaged enterprise applications (SAP, Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, etc),
• Experience with ecommerce programs/containers (WebSphere, ATG, etc)
• Experience with exchange, middleware layers such as Apache, Tomcat.
• Experience in pre-sales and implementation and day 2 support
• Experienced in coordinating large technical teams, driving problem management activities and high quality troubleshooting are necessary for this role.
• High skill levels in 3 -5 of the solution layers will be necessary for success in this role.
• Experience managing projects end to end solutions involving all components, including networking, load balancers, firewalls, OS, DB, application layers, performance tuning, load testing and overall capacity planning expertise

Required Qualifications -

• 8-10 years related technical architect experience.
• Ability to work with technical and business-oriented teams
• Proficient in Network Management, Tools and Protocols (Configuration, IP Network Address Management, Performance Management).
• Knowledge of data center infrastructure (including blade center design, data warehouse design, Ebusiness/web hosting design, etc.)
• Proficient in home and premise networking architectures, assessment and modeling.
• Understands Virtualization, Storage and Content Deliver Networks (Cloud, CDM, Grid, SAN).

Desired Qualifications -

• AS/BS degree in Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field
• Experience in building multiple versions of large customer facing systems addressing performance and scale.
• Develops technical documentation on applications and systems
• Proficient in data communications protocols (TCP/IP, v4/v6, etc.)
• Proficient in specifying and evaluating architecture requirements for RFXs.
