The School of Public Health at the University at Albany is seeking applicants for a fully state-funded tenure-track position in Social Behavior and Community Health for appointment at the assistant professor rank in the Department of Health Policy, Management & Behavior. The ideal candidate will have research interests and experience related to child, adolescent, or family health. In addition, candidates with a focus on community-based public health are especially encouraged to apply, though this is not a requirement. The Department of Health Policy, Management & Behavior is a multi-disciplinary department with MPH and DrPH curriculum tracks in Social Behavior & Community Health and Health Policy & Management. The School of Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health, and offers MPH, MS, DrPH and PhD degrees, as well as an undergraduate major in Public Health. The School is a unique partnership between the University at Albany and the New York State Department of Health. Requirements:
Candidates should have a doctoral degree in Public Health with a Social/Behavioral Sciences emphasis or in a related discipline (e.g. Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Human Development, Communication, Education) relevant to Public Health. Candidates will be expected to develop an independent research program, teach in core areas of Social/Behavioral Sciences (e.g. Program Planning, Social/Behavioral Science Theory) as well as in specialty areas, and perform university and community service, and should have experience working with culturally diverse students and staff. The candidate must be from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accredited organization.
