Develop methods to assess the curriculum, knowledge, skills, and attitudes of our students, and the quality of faculty teaching. Provide students with interactive and constructive feedback needed for self-assessment and enhance their development as future physicians. Collect evaluation data, organize results, and provide feedback to faculty and committees. Assist faculty and education committees to develop new and reliable methods of assessment. Provide guidance in understanding, interpreting, and effectively utilizing the results. Essential Duties 1. Serve as a school-wide resource for educational assessment and evaluation. 2. Work closely with education leadership and committees to design and implement the assessment and evaluation plan. 3. Synthesize and disseminate assessment and evaluation information to faculty and education committees. 4. Work closely with education leadership and committees to identify and implement appropriate instruments for assessment. 5. Provide training to faculty in the application of methods to assess student and educator performance. 6. Work closely with educational leadership to monitor and interpret external qualitative and quantitative assessment data (e.g. USMLE Step 1 & 2 scores, OSCE evaluations, AAMC Graduation Questionnaire, etc.). 7. Provide leadership, direction, and consultation to identify and develop the education assessment methods needed to implement the YSM Strategic Plan for Medical Education. 8. Ensure that the development and implementation of assessment methods is a collaborative effort and consistent with the University system of education. 9. Serve as a member of various education committees to provide expertise on educational assessment and evaluation. 10. Attend professional meetings related to educational assessment and evaluation. Required Education and Experience 1. Doctoral degree and at least five years of related experience in evaluation and/or assessment. Additional Education and Experience 1. Working knowledge of student assessment and program evaluation models. 2. Proficiency with statistics, psychometrics, and research design. 3. Experience in planning, designing, and implementing an assessment and evaluation plan.
