Position Summary:

The Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education & Professor [Associate/Full] in Bouve College of Health Sciences is responsible for providing academic leadership, in collaboration with department chairs, for all undergraduate education programs within the College. The Associate Dean facilitates the successful education of undergraduate students by assisting with program development, evaluation, and enrollment. As a member of the Dean¿s senior leadership team, the Associate Dean assists with strategic planning for the College.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate Dean works with the Dean of the College, as well as with department chairs and the Office of Student Services, to oversee the development of new undergraduate programs, initiatives, and course offerings. The Associate Dean works to address both enrollment and retention issues in conjunction with the college¿ s Office of Student Services , and is involved in monitoring the use of the FACT system (Faculty-Advisor Communication Tool) to address student academic issues as well as the TRACE system for faculty evaluation. The Associate Dean represents the College on university committees related to undergraduate curriculum and affairs, as well as at Vice-Provost led university-wide meetings of associate deans of undergraduate education. Communicates back to the college any policy changes or issues relevant to the college and helps to resolve the issues brought forth at these meetings.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a PhD or appropriate advanced professional doctoral degree; appropriate relevant academic experience relevant to the role in an institution with a strong undergraduate program; at least two years' experience in an administration position in a university setting. The candidate will be eligible for an appointment as Associate or Full Professor in the appropriate academic department of the College. The candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work well with faculty, administration and students. A demonstrated ability in leadership and management is required.
